Day 1
Departure Toronto on board of the Transatlantic Flight.
Day 2
Arrival at Istanbul. Transfer to the Hotel Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 3
Full day with a panoramic City tour, the Topkapi Palace, the Hippodrome and the Basilica of St. Sophia, it has been a cathedral, a mosque, and now a museum. Visit the unique Blue Mosque. Evening Free. Overnight Istanbul.
Day4
Izmir – Pergamum – Thyatira – Izmir: Depart Istanbul for the flight to Izmir. Arrival and start our tour to the church of Pergamum, in Bergama; see the Acropolis, the steepest world theatre, Altar of Zeus, mentioned as Throne of Satan in the book of revelation. Visit the Red Basilica (St. John’s Church). Drive to Thyatira, now Akhisar city, another one of the Seven Churches of Asia. Thyatira city was famous for purple dyes. Visit the basilica remains, the architectural ruins from the Roman period. (Lydia), the purple seller in Philippi, was from Thyatira. On the way back to Izmir, a panoramic tour of Smyrna which is the third biggest city of Turkey. Smyrna one of the seven churches in Asia. Overnight Izmir.
Day 5
Izmir- Ephesus- Izmir: Drive to the city of Ephesus, which is the one of the seven churches in Asia. Visit the Basilica of St. John. St. Paul preached the Ephesians about religion and spent his last 3 years here. In Ephesus there is the Archaeological Museum. Walk through the marble streets. On the way to the hotel, visit the House of the Virgin Mary. Overnight in Kusadasi.
Day 6
Izmir – Sardis – Philadelphia – Laodicea- Pamukkale: The next visit of the seven churches of Asia is called Sardis. Visit the temples of Artemis and of Cybele, goddess of fertility. This temple was converted to a Byzantine Church. In Sardis, visit a Lydian house, drive to Philadelphia, to Alasehir, another church of the Seven Churches of Asia, and the only church that was not censured, see the ruins of a Byzantine basilica. Onward to the healing city of Hierapolis, now called Pamukkale, the white «cotton fortress» where hot mineral water bursts from the earth and cascades over steep cliffs forming pools. The therapeutic waters were known to the founders of Hierapolis and of Laodicea. In Hierapolis, visit the Martyrdom of the Apostle Philip where he was martyred during the persecutions. Proceed to Laodicea (Denizli), one of the Seven Churches of Asia Minor; see the Basilica remains and the ancient stone water pipes. Overnight in a Thermal Hotel Pamukkale.
Day 7
Pamukkale-Thessaloniki: Our tour comes to an end, transfer to the Airport for the Flight to Thessaloniki. Overnight in Thessaloniki.
Day 8
Phillippi-Kavala-Thessaloniki: Visit Philippi where Paul delivered his first sermon in Europe, onward to the city of Macedonia Here Paul baptized the first Christian woman converted in Europe named Lydia. The Roman forum, the prison where Paul and Silas were thrown. Continue to the city of Kavala, where Paul accompanied by Silas, Luke and Timothy, first set foot in Europe. Dinner and overnight in Thessaloniki.
Day 9
Thessaloniki-Meteora: Thessaloniki city-tour: Paul preached here wrote two epistles to the Thessalonians. Depart for Kalambaka, Meteora Monasteries. Overnight Kalambaka.
Day 10
Kalambaka – Delphi: Visit the Meteora Monasteries. Amongst the striking scenery, perched on top of huge rocks, that looks to be suspended in mid-air, stand monasteries of Byzantine art. Drive to Athens and Overnight.
Day 11
Athens – Excursion to Corinth: A panoramic City Tour, continue to Corinth, here St. Paul preached and lived for two years. Visit the ruins of the ancient city where St Paul, Aquila and Priscilla worked. Agora where Paul’s trial by Galileo took place. Overnight Athens.
Day 12
Transfer to the Airport for the return flight filled with Cherished memories.
